Home Improvement Tip:
Repairing Wood Rot
Many of the homes in our community are suffering from wood rot. A handyman can repair that rotted door trim in a day. However, if you are handy with tools you can repair the damage yourself. Check out our article on the Home Improvement page for instruction.

Summer Camp
Registration is now open for Prince William County Park Authority’s Summer Camp programs. Full-day, part-day and field trips offered to kids 3-15 years of age. Click here to visit their website for more information.
Pool Passes Available
The Stockbridge/Ashmere Pool opens Memorial Day weekend. You’ll need a pool tag to gain access. Tags will be issued to each household member, as well as two guest tags. Tags must be displayed at all times while in the pool area. Children under four years of age do not require a tag.
All family members and guests should be familiar with the pool rules.
A registration form must be completed by the homeowner on record with the property management company. Members of the pool committee will be at the pool house on Saturday May 19th 10:30 – 12:00 and Saturday May 26th 10:00 – 11:00 to issue tags. If you cannot make these dates tags may be obtained from Flannery Property Management.

Dealing with Salesmen
It’s a common experience. You sit down for dinner. There’s a knock at the door. You are greeted by a friendly salesman who ‘happens to be working in the area’. They proceed to peddle their wonderful services while your meal gets cold.
Fed up? Ask them to leave. Not just your door but the entire community.

The homeowners association, after consulting the Prince William County Police, posted the now familiar “No Solicitation No Trespassing No Loitering” signs on every lamppost. The signs provide sufficient notice to prohibit any trespassing in the community (the No Solicitation statement is not itself enforceable). Just point to the nearest sign and tell them to go. If they persist you may contact the Prince William County Police at the non-emergency number (703-792-6500) to have the trespasser removed.
Learn more at the PWC Website.
PS: Salesmen sometimes flash a county business permit. Remember that the permit does not supersede our property rights. They still have to leave when asked.
Cleaning up after Fido
Dogs and cats are wonderful companions and very welcome in the Ashmere community. However, pet owners must remember that they are responsible for the immediate removal and proper disposal of animal waste on all portions of the common areas. That includes the common area behind the houses. So please remember to bring a plastic bag with you when you walk the dog.

Thank you for helping to keep the neighborhood clean and safe.
Home Improvement Tip:
Spring Maintenance
With the weather warming it’s time to start planning all those Spring chores. Fortunately most can be accomplished quickly and easily. We’ve compiled a ‘brief’ checklist to help you get started. Check out our article on the Home Improvement page for instruction.
